This historic institutional renovation and remodel to over 90,000 sq. ft. of administrative offices, classrooms, a separate science building, auditorium, library and student dormitories transformed this private school campus into a state-of-the-art educational community. A new link was also constructed connecting the science building to the classrooms and administrative offices. In addition, Lord Contractors, Inc. managed the school campus and facility that included over 1,800 acres, 50 main campus and historic buildings and residential housing.
Converse Winkler Architecture, LLC
A former church chapel was renovated and adapted into a state-of-the-art lecture hall and media room. This renovation was part of an on-going historic preservation effort to a Main Line national landmark. A free-floating, radius acoustical panel sound system was designed and engineered to accommodate use by a variety of outside groups. The original mahogany paneling was duplicated with custom-milled material to match and the pulpit was refinished and reused as a new lecture stand. The computer controlled audio-visual system is housed in a custom-built media center. A new roof-top mounted mechanical air conditioning system was also installed for added comfort and flexibility. Other historical preservation projects included fabrication of a new, stain glass, tracery window and other window conservation repairs, masonry stone pointing and complete replacement of the sanctuary slate roof, copper pole gutters and flashings.
